My education and background are in translation and interpretation, and I’ve been working as a UX writer for over 3 years now. I found it surprisingly similar to interpretation — essentially you translate an idea into words and put it in the form that suits your audience. Isn’t that what we do when we write UX copy?
I’m a UX writer, translator, and localization manager at Xsolla, and I recently became a team lead for our UX writers in Russia. Apart from writing and translating, my responsibilities always included building the processes around it, which I found challenging at all stages of my career, especially when we started working together with our US-based colleagues. I hope that our experience will help you solve the challenges you meet on your way.
